Kendall Projected and Actual Release
TDCJ Classification and Records calculates a Projected Release for a current state prisoner. It is the date the person is expected to leave incarceration if parole does not occur sooner. A Parole Eligibility Date marks when legal and time rules first allow consideration. Maximum Expiration is the calculated sentence end. A Scheduled Release Date and Location may appear later, after approval and operational review.
A KCDC pretrial detainee has no sentence-based projection. Bond, a court order, dismissal, another hold, or case disposition can change when that person leaves. For a county sentence, begin with the signed judgment and judicial jail-time credit. KCSO then applies the lawful county calculation. Never transfer a TDCJ projection formula to a Kendall County jail term.
Find a Kendall Projected Release
Choose the route by custody. The TDCJ Online Inmate Search includes only people currently incarcerated in a TDCJ facility, and its data is at least 24 hours old. Search an exact last name with at least a first initial, or use the seven-digit TDCJ number or SID. Compare identifiers, then open the detail for available projected, eligibility, maximum-expiration, and scheduled fields.
- Confirm whether the person is at KCDC, in TDCJ, in federal or immigration custody, or already released.
- For TDCJ, search by number when possible and compare offense, county, sentence, and unit.
- For a Kendall jail sentence, obtain the signed judgment and credit, then ask KCSO records for its calculation.
- For a former state prisoner, email TDCJ with the name and number, or birth information and county of conviction.
- Verify final departure through the custodian rather than relying on a missing result.
TDCJ’s offender-information email route has no charge and can return incarceration history and projected-date information. Broader historical material belongs in its formal Public Information Act process. The complete custody search path is on the Kendall County released inmates page.
Texas Good Time and Kendall Release
Government Code §§498.002–.004 govern TDCJ good-conduct classifications, accrual, forfeiture, and restoration. Good time is a privilege. It can affect eligibility or mandatory-supervision calculations where law permits, but it does not shorten the sentence imposed by the court. An eligible case from before September 1996 can use flat time plus good time in a mandatory-release calculation. Later discretionary mandatory supervision requires BPP approval.
Texas has no safe universal 85-percent rule. Government Code §508.145 supplies offense-specific formulas. Some serious offenses and deadly-weapon findings use calendar-time thresholds, often one-half of the sentence or 30 years, whichever is less, subject to the statutory minimum. Good time does not reduce that eligibility point. Section 508.149 supplies mandatory-supervision exclusions and review rules. The 85-percent shorthand belongs to a different federal framework.
Why Kendall Release Dates Change
A projection changes when its legal or factual inputs change. TDCJ can recalculate after a mandatory-supervision denial, while later approval may move the date forward. Release-plan review and records auditing occur after a favorable decision. For a Kendall sentence, corrected credit or a new court order can alter the local calculation.
| Factor | Possible effect | Confirm with |
|---|---|---|
| Good-time loss or restoration | Changes an eligible TDCJ calculation. | TDCJ records |
| Parole decision | May move or reset a projection. | BPP and TDCJ |
| Detainer or warrant | May cause transfer, not community release. | Issuing agency |
| Corrected jail credit | Changes credited sentence time. | Court and custodian |
| Program or release plan | Can delay scheduling. | Parole Division |
| Court order | Can alter sentence or custody authority. | Court clerk |
Note: Release from KCDC to TDCJ, USMS, or ICE ends county custody but is a transfer, not a community release.
Confirm Kendall Actual Release
Texas IVSS-Counties replaced county VINE in 2025. It can send release and transfer notices, yet it says agency-fed information is not an official record and may be incomplete or late. Preserve an alert, then compare it with KCSO’s release transaction, the court order, or TDCJ’s record. A missing person may no longer appear even when the reason is unresolved.
Kendall’s sheriff publishes a rolling 48-hour released roster for county-jail departures. It gives a release date but was not observed to show an exact time or categorical reason in every entry. Older events require the KCSO open-record route and court record. TDCJ’s public result disappearing is likewise not proof because its search is a current-incarceration tool.
Kendall County Sentence Calculations
A Kendall jail term starts with the signed sentence and jail-time credit awarded by the judge. Code of Criminal Procedure article 42A.755 addresses credit for certain confinement imposed as a community-supervision condition, but the research found no published Kendall County good-time manual. Ask KCSO for the calculation and the court for the controlling judgment instead of estimating.
No official source gives a universal daily release hour, weekend schedule, or holiday rule for KCDC. Call the detention center about the specific booking before travel. A hold may turn the scheduled end of the Kendall term into a transfer.
Kendall Release Date Fields
Parole Eligibility is the first point at which legal and time rules allow consideration, not a promise of release. Projected Release reflects the current TDCJ calculation if parole does not occur sooner. Maximum Expiration is the calculated sentence end. Scheduled Release Date and Location are later operational fields that can appear after approval and audit.
TDCJ material describes a Classification and Records audit after a release certificate arrives, commonly taking 14 to 21 business days. It warns that a date can change without notice, even on the scheduled day. Required programming, a release plan, and detainers can intervene. A favorable BPP vote cannot be converted into a gate date.
For a former prisoner, email pia@tdcj.texas.gov with the full name and TDCJ number. When the number is unknown, provide birth information and county of conviction. Ask for incarceration history, release or discharge date and type, maximum-expiration date, and supervision status. Use formal TDCJ records procedures for a release certificate or broader file.
Federal and immigration dates remain separate. A BOP result may show Released or Not in BOP Custody, while ICE’s locator is current rather than historical. Neither source confirms a Kendall County jail release.
Kendall Court Date Checks
A Kendall court docket can outlast the sheriff’s rolling display, but it records litigation rather than the exact gate event. Review the judgment, sentence, jail credit, commitment, later modifications, and hold-related filings. Request the signed order when wording matters. A dismissal in one cause does not prove departure if another cause or agency hold remains active.
Pair the case result with the custodian’s release record. The court can explain legal authority, while KCSO or TDCJ confirms when physical custody ended and whether another agency received the person.
